Cathy Neal

Catherine Neal, PT, PRPT earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Armstrong Atlantic Southern University in 1998. She started treating pelvic pain patients 15 years ago and pursued this specialty after seeing how much the quality of life for them improved after therapy.   

Cathy is certified in treating men, women, and children with pelvic pain, pelvic girdle dysfunction, and conditions of bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunction.  She also has her Dry Needling certification.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael Neal, helping him with their eco-tour businesses, Bull River Cruises and Moon River Kayak Tours. In their spare time they try to get outdoors as much as possible; kayaking, scuba diving and camping. In addition, Cathy competes in agility trials with their Shetland Sheepdogs and Border Collies and loves to visit their married daughter and grandchildren who live in Strasbourg, France. Cathy, owner and founder of Core Therapy is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, but fell in love with Savannah and moved to Wilmington Island 40 years ago.

Alex McMullen

Alex received her Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Health Studies and then her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Ithaca College in Upstate New York. She started realizing her passion for Pelvic Floor Therapy and Women’s Health during her graduate schooling when she was given the opportunity to work with a women's health therapist and witness firsthand the profound impact that this type of therapy can make on people’s quality of life. Since graduating, she has specialized in pelvic health with an emphasis on urinary incontinence, pregnancy and postpartum, pudendal neuralgia, constipation, and sexual dysfunction. 

Alex is originally from a small Southern Maine town where she met her husband, Ryan. Together they moved to Savannah in 2018, where they settled very quickly. They enjoy being active outside, spending time with their dog, Mookie (named after Mookie Betts), and renovating their old home in downtown Savannah. When not at Core Therapy, Alex enjoys running and exercising, reading fantasy and thriller novels, watching stand-up comedy, and spending time with her family.

Pelvic Floor Therapist

Dr. Claire Doroff

Dr. Claire Doroff received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University. She also completed specialized coursework and training in pelvic floor physical therapy.

 

Since graduating, Claire decided to become a pelvic floor therapist after seeing the life-changing impacts it can have on patients. She is passionate about using a holistic approach to help people resolve their symptoms and return to doing what they love. Claire also specializes in treating various orthopedic conditions, including low back and hip pain. 

 

When she is not in the clinic, Claire enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, and playing tennis. In addition, she loves to travel and has visited 18 countries and counting. 

Pelvic Floor Therapist

Bella Axelsson

Dr. Isabella Axelsson earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Services and her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Psychology from Georgia Southern University. While at St. Augustine, she completed clinical training for the pelvic floor specialty before graduating and has continued to practice this specialty in the Savannah area ever since.  

Bella was born and raised in Savannah, GA. Throughout college, Bella was a group fitness instructor, certified in Barre and Zumba. She enjoys reading, working out, and baking. 

Office Manager

Jane Davis

Jane Davis is from Ohio and has lived in Savannah for 4 years.  She attended Colorado State University-Global Campus and has held administrative roles for over 25 years.  She joined Core Therapy in 2023, coming out of retirement to be a part of the great team here. She welcomes pelvic health patients to our practice and supports the patients and therapists as the office manager.

 

Jane has been married to her husband, Jay, for 24 years, and they have 2 sons.  She enjoys spending time with them, her 2 daughters-in-law, and 3 grandchildren!  She also loves spending her time at the beach, especially in St. Augustine whenever they go for a getaway!
